GP emergency rooms improve efficiency and policy through benchmarking: key insights into quality and workload
InEen strengthens and connects the first line and represents the interests of the organized first line. A strong first line, with the GP as the spider in the web, is the foundation for good, affordable and reliable care.
Mission: To safeguard the quality standards of GP emergency departments, periodic information on the operations of these organizations is essential. Since 2012, after careful selection, InEen has been using our benchmarking system Cviews to professionalize this process and support the development of common policies.
Approach: The benchmark offers GP emergency rooms a powerful tool for mutual comparison and provides InEen with valuable, up-to-date data for policy development and advocacy. By participating in the benchmark, GP emergency rooms can improve their efficiency, quality and policy. In 2023, the already existing benchmark for of chain care organizationshas been added to our benchmark platform, further increasing its value and scope.
Results: The GP emergency room benchmark has become a reliable and indispensable tool for monitoring national developments. Almostall approximately 50 family physician service structures (HDS) that are members of InEen participate in the benchmark. The results show conclusively, among other things, that the workload at GP emergency rooms has continued to increase in recent years, which contributes to better insight and targeted policy-making within the sector.
